Belmont Dentist Dr. McDonald Dentistry Questions and Answers

Q: I am not happy with my smile. Can my teeth be made whiter and more attractive?

A:
Definitely! Tooth whitening is a simple and conservative way to enhance your smile. If the shape or size of the teeth is not attractive, all porcelain veneers or crowns can be made to give you the smile you have always wanted.

Q: How long will it take to fix my a smile?

A:
It can usually be done in two visits after the consultation. The first visit is to prepare the teeth, the second, to place the new crowns or veneers. There is usually a week interval between the visits.

Q: What are veneers?

A: Veneers are thin porcelain coverings that go over the front and biting edge of your tooth to improve the shape and color. They are more conservative than a crown, as very little tooth structure is removed yet are very strong and durable.

Q: My front teeth are crowded and crooked what can be done?

A:
Orthodontics, with a removable retainer appliance, can be done in the office to straighten the teeth. You can remove it when you choose, and it usually takes about 4-6 months to get the desired result.
